The surfs flat! What can I do in a few hours around the Jetty?

Luke Young • April 26, 2021

Sometimes when summer kicks in, the waves settle right down, perhaps it’s Mother Nature’s way of telling the surf-obsessed it may be time to find other hobbies! We get it, no surf is not ideal when you’re on holidays in one of the most beautiful beach towns on the east coast but don’t despair, there’s still plenty to do to keep you busy and entertained.

Try some of these activities to stay sane while the surfs down:

Get back on dry land

Get out of water and onto the boardwalk! The Coffs Creek walk wraps around the mangroves from the Promenade to Park Beach. Take in the beautiful leafy scenery as you walk the track and stop to check the waves on your way back.

Try stand-up paddle boarding

Can’t stay away from the ocean? Make the most of the flat surf conditions and hire a stand-up paddle board down at the Jetty main beach!

Go for a row

Drop in a canoe at the Coffs Creek and go for a row! Paddle, fish or just sit back and enjoy the scenery as you gently drift along to the sound of the birds and the breeze.

So, there you have it, the top three activities to keep you busy while you wait for the surf to pick up while you’re on holidays at The Observatory Holiday apartments!
